The Japanese seniors are familiar with the enka style of singing.laughing and joy shown on the faces of all of the residents at the Atherton Baptist Homes made all of the effort by SOSN a gratifying and a very worthwhile endeavor.

SOSN was able to present a touch of the Japanese culture to the Atherton Homes residents for the second time in the past recent years.As the singers ended their set.The Atherton Homes provide a safe haven for the seniors who were evicted.

The first speaker was the Honorable Jeffrey Koji Maloney.presented a program of taiko and Japanese songs.

Approximately 165 seniors and family members.

The seniors miss eating their gohan and they miss sitters who are bilingual and can help them exercise and walk.The 117 Sansei killed in action in the Vietnam War were remembered.

Special recognition was given to First Sgt.Filmmaker Cory Shiozaki’sMemorial Day message focused on his fellow Sansei veterans of the Vietnam War.

Fuchigami enlisted in the Army in 2016 and served until his death in 2019.We Sansei Vietnam veterans are grateful to stand on the shoulders of our Nisei parents.
